Two weeks down

I can’t believe I am halfway through my Whole30. Today has been a much better day than the past couple of days. I am feeling inspired again. Thank you Pinterest! I am finding all sorts of new recipes I want to try and keep pinning more and more. I need to slow down before I overwhelm myself. I am sticking to the few recipes I posted yesterday for this week, but I am excited to try more next week.

Threw a whole chicken in the slow cooker for Paleo Cupboard’s slow cooker rotisserie chicken and made some oven baked sweet potato fries. A very simple dinner that tasted great. I ventured away from my normal sea salt, ground pepper, and rosemary seasoning and made a batch with smoked paprika and one with cinnamon. The smoked paprika were my favorite. If anyone else has any other good seasoning combinations, let me know. I’d love to try some new ones.

Perhaps that has been a part of my downfall this week. I tried a couple of new recipes and was not very happy with them. I even had to spit one out it was so awful. So what did I end up doing to cope with my stress? I had dessert. It was a W30 compliant dessert, coconut milk cream, frozen berries, and cinnamon, and I am not ashamed. I tried some again tonight, but this time I prepared it a little bit sooner and threw it in the freezer to make a sort of frozen treat.

I will let you know how it works out in tomorrow’s post. I realized I should probably post my meals the day after I eat them, because I don’t necessarily always eat what I plan to the day I write my post. For example, I didn’t end up eating that meatball and squash soup smorgasbord that I said I did. I only ended up eating the coconut milk cream and berries. And it made me happy.

You know what else made me happy? Getting some new workout shoes! Yeah! I got a pair of the new Reebok Nanos. In my favorite color. BAM! It’s bittersweet, but I am so happy to be able to retire my Innov8s, even though we had a great run. They were and old pair of hand-me-down WOD shoes that had been put through the ringer. They looked like they had climbed one too many ropes and the left one had a hole that kept getting bigger and bigger. It was time for some new shoes. So far, I am diggin’ my new Reeboks.
